Food and Clothing Drive

We need your help.

The Durham Family Advisory Board recognizes that some individuals and families have a pressing need for assistance in our community and beyond.

In Ontario, approximately 1 in 8 households experience food shortages. Many families struggle to put a nutritious meal on the table, which is particularly challenging during the winter months when energy costs rise and heating bills mount.

Across the province, numerous families face difficulties in accessing suitable winter clothing. In fact, over 25% of low-income households in Ontario struggle to afford adequate clothing for themselves and their children.

Which is why we need your help.

The Durham Family Advisory Board will be collecting non-perishable food items and gently used clothing to provide essential support to families in need within the Durham Region.

As the cold winter months approach, we are particularly focusing on gathering winter coats, boots, and other warm clothing to ensure that everyone in our community stays warm and comfortable.

About Us

The Durham Family Advisory Board is a dedicated group of community members who are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of families in Durham Region. We believe in the power of community, compassion, and collective efforts to create a better future for everyone. This charity drive is one of the many initiatives we undertake to support our community.

How You Can Help

We invite you to join us in this endeavor by donating non-perishable food items and gently used winter clothing. We also accept gift cards. Your contributions will go a long way in helping those who are struggling during the winter season.

Items In Need

Winter Coats: As the temperature drops, a warm coat can make all the difference. Donations of gently used winter coats, in all sizes, are greatly appreciated.

Boots: Keeping feet warm and dry is essential in the winter. We are looking for gently used winter boots in various sizes to keep our community members comfortable.

Warm Clothing: Scarves, gloves, hats, and sweaters are essential items for staying warm during the colder months. Any gently used warm clothing you can spare will be put to good use.
