The Durham Family Advisory Board collected and donated several boxes and bags of non-perishable food items and gently used clothing to help to families in need within the Durham Region.

The Durham Family Advisory Board recognizes that some individuals and families have a pressing need for assistance in our community and beyond, especially during the holiday season.

In Ontario, approximately 1 in 8 households experience food shortages. Many families struggle to put a nutritious meal on the table, which is particularly challenging during the winter months when energy costs rise and heating bills mount.

Across the province, numerous families face difficulties in accessing suitable winter clothing. In fact, over 25% of low-income households in Ontario struggle to afford adequate clothing for themselves and their children.
